Consumers, retailers embrace AI for holiday shopping
The Talkdesk 2024 Holiday Survey explores the effects of AI on consumers’ habits and retailers’ CX strategy. The survey, conducted in August 2024, polled 1,500 American consumers — and 400 retailers (200 AI users, 200 non-AI users) — about their perspectives on AI and its role in the holiday shopping experience.
Consumers expect cost savings and reduced anxiety with AI-guided purchases. Many retailers have already deployed AI to improve self-service and the consumer shopping experience. Data privacy concerns and a lack of worker expertise will prevent other retailers from adopting AI, suggesting a widening gap in AI adoption between consumers and retailers.
